Make up for Oily Skin

Finding the right make-up products for oily skin can be a real challenge. And because oily skin comes hand in hand with blackheads, blemishes and open pores, many have been advised against make-up. Dealing with problematic skin is one thing, and people tell you to leave the skin bare or you’ll make it worse is certainly frustrating. You want to look presentable, hide the red bump on your nose and make those blemishes appear less red. Above all, you want to feel normal. And you wonder, a little make up wouldn’t hurt, would it ? But somehow, you ended up feeling even make-up doesnt help because it doesnt seem to stick on your skin. Ahah, tell you what…been there!

Even celebs like Renee dont get it right sometimes.

Foundation Brush

Hi ladies,

This is just a quick review on my foundation brushes. Some of them are almost 9 years old and yet the bristles are as new and the handles are sturdy still. The labels may have worn off but otherwise the brushes are still in good shape. I bought 2 brushes (not included in the photo) at a local bazaar , but really the quality is like night and day although they are so similar in appearance, but of course so much cheaper in price. Certainly, there are other ways of applying foundation e.g fingers, sponge but if brush is your favourite tool, then buying a good, high quality one would be an investment. It really does last a very long time. Some make up artist have had their brushes for 2-3 decades! Errr…you dont really need as many (I had a secret dream of becoming a makeup artist… :P)

Beauty Essentials

Hi ladies,

Do you remember the ever famous ‘beauty’  question ’ if you were stranded at a desert island, what 3 beauty items would you want to have with you?’. Yeah, i know ..i know..who’d be thinking about beauty stuff then? ( a friend said she’d need a concealer, lipstick and mascara…she wanted to look good when people discovered her at a lost island, she might end up on TV).. haih!!!

The idea is to come up with the 3 most important beauty items in your life. To some, this is an easy task. Well, is it? Aha…we’ll see!

I didnt have to think too long about this. Mine would be :

a) Sunscreen, of course!! I use my Obagi SPF 50 all the time!! ( and besides, it’s a desert right?)

b) Vaseline. It’s a moisturiser and a lip balm, 2 in 1.

c) Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair. My fav serum. The sun is likely to have damaged my skin and causes premature ageing. So serum is a must and this one is so darn great, i tell ya!

What would you have brought with you?

P/s – It’d be pretty boring, so I’d bring my books along 🙂
